Mushroom Pattani Kuruma

Are you running out of time to prepare a curry for your dinner? Check out the recipe shared in Chef Deena’s Kitchen, where a kuruma is prepared using mushrooms and green peas. It takes a maximum of 30 minutes to prepare this kuruma, which is completely packed with plenty of South Indian flavors.

Mushroom is an edible fungus that is a rich source of proteins, fiber, and antioxidants, as well as being low in calories. Whereas, green peas are composed of basic and high-quality proteins that are mandated for the body.

The mushroom pattani kuruma is a healthy recipe as it is prepared using cashew nut paste, coconut paste, mushrooms, and green peas. Other than being healthy, this kuruma possesses excellent flavors from the spices added. This exotic mushroom pattani kuruma is an ideal choice for Chapathi, Poori, Idly, and Dosa, as well as any rice variety.

Ingredients:
  • 2 Packets
    Mushroom
  • 1 Cup
    Green Peas
  • 2 No's
    Onion
  • 2 No's
    Tomato
  • 3 to 4 No's
    Green Chilli
  • 3/4 Tbsp
    Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1/2 Tsp
    Fennel Seeds
  • A Pinch
    Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 Tbsp
    Chilli Powder
  • 3/4 Tbsp
    Coriander Powder
  • 15 No's
    Cashewnut
  • Half Shell
    Coconut
  • 1/4 Tsp
    Black pepper powder
  • To Taste
    Salt
  • As Required
    Curry Leaves
  • As Required
    Coriander Leaves
  • For Cooking
    Oil
Directions:

    Heat the oil in a pan, then add the Fennel Seeds, Whole Garam Masalas (Bay leaf, Cloves, Cinnamon sticks, and Cardamom) and finely chopped onions for tempering.

    Sauté onions until 40% done, then add 2 slit green chillies and curry leaves.

    Add Ginger Garlic Paste to the mixture and saute until the raw smell disappears. Chopped Tomatoes are added to the tempering, when the raw smell of the Ginger Garlic Paste disappears.

    When the Tomatoes gets slightly cooked, add Turmeric powder, Red Chili Powder, Coriander Powder and cook in the Oil until it turns to a mushy state.

    Pour in the ground Cashewnut Paste, Coconut Paste and mix. When the masala begins to boil slightly, pour required amount of water, Coriander leaves and cook the masala by covering it using a lid.

    When the Oil gets separated from the gravy, add Mushrooms, 1 cup of fresh Green Peas and cook for about 5-10 minutes.

    Add the chopped coriander leaves and Black Pepper Powder to the mixture, then finish with 1 Tbsp Gingelly oil.

    Mix and serve the smooth Mushroom Pattani Kuruma with Chapathi, Poori, Idly, Dosa, or any rice variety for a delicious and satisfying meal.
