Masala Vegetable Rice

Because it is made up of brilliant colors, improved aroma, and many spicy seasonings, this dish is the most easy and modern way to introduce vegetables into your child’s meal.

Chef Deena Kitchen explains how to make Masala Veg Rice step by step. Partially boiled vegetables are added to the prepared masala. The layers of rice and masala are then distributed and placed in the Dum. When blended and served, the flavor remains enthralling and leaves you stunned.

Ingredients:

    Boiled Basmati Rice

    Potato
  • 1 No
    Carrot
  • 4 No's
    Beans
  • 2 Tbsp
    Green Peas
  • 2 No's
    Tomato
  • 3 No's
    Onion
  • 5 No's
    Red Chili
  • 3 No's
    Green Chilli
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    Crushed Garlic with Skin
  • 3/4 Tbsp
    Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 3/4 Tbsp
    Chilli Powder
  • 1 Tbsp
    Coriander Powder
  • 1/4 Tsp
    Turmeric powder
  • 1/4 Tsp
    Fennel Seeds
  • 1/4 Tsp
    Mustard Seeds
  • As Required
    Curry Leaves
  • As Required
    Coriander Leaves
  • 2 Tbsp
    Boiled Moong Dal
  • As Required
    Salt
  • For Cooking
    Gingelly Oil

    First step in this preparation is to boil the vegetables. To the boiling water, add chopped Potatoes, Carrot, Green Peas, Beans in required amount.

    Add Salt, Turmeric powder and Green Chilies to the boiling veggies so that the seasonings and flavors intact.

    Boil vegetables to 80%, strain, and set aside. Use stock water from boiling to make soup.

    Pour Gingelly oil into clay pan and heat, To the heated Oil, add Mustard seeds, Fennel seeds, and allow it to splutter. Then add crushed garlic with skin.

    Followed by garlic, add Red Chilies, Curry leaves and again add Green Chilies. In this stage, add finely chopped onion and saute well until they turn translucent and golden brown.

    Cook onions to 90%, then add ground Ginger Garlic paste, chopped Tomatoes, Turmeric Powder, and Salt to the mixture.

    Now, add Chilli Powder, Coriander Powder to the onion-tomato masala and cook well for 2 minutes. Pour in required amount of water to the prepared the masala (In this stage, instead of water prefer adding the vegetable stock) and cook the mixture by covering it using a lid.

    Cook the masala for 5 minutes, then add the boiled vegetables and cook again to achieve the desired texture.

    Add boiled moong dal and Coriander leaves to the mixture, mix, and cook until it thickens. Transfer the masala to another bowl.

    The next step involves layering the prepared masala and rice, starting with a small amount of masala, then spreading the rice on top, followed by the remaining masala.

    Place the set up in Dum for 5 minutes, then mix and serve.
