Aval Vadai

Ingredients:

 India is reportedly the only nation on Earth with a varied culture and a variety of eating customs. States in South India are renowned for their enormous assortments of mouthwatering and finger-licking cuisine. These dishes, whether they are vegetarian or not, are quite tasty. Of all the snacks, the variety of crispy Vadas is the most popular. In some places, they are also called Vade, Bara, Wada, and Wadeh.

 You are taken aback by the unique fast snack, Aval Vadai, at Chef Deena's Kitchen. As implied by the name, Aval Vadai is made from Aval, or flattened rice, also referred to as beaten rice.  This crispy Aval Vadai can be  served with tea or coffee as an evening snack.

In Chef Deena Kitchen, the detailed process for making this quick snack is provided step-by-step with pictures.

  • 250 grams
    Aval (Flattened Rice)
  • 4 Tbsp
    Rice Flour
  • 2 No's
    Onion
  • 8 No's
    Crushed Garlic with Skin
  • 1 Tbsp
    Chilli flakes
  • As Required
    Coriander Leaves
  • As Required
    Curry Leaves
  • 100 ml
    Curd
  • To Taste
    Salt
  • For Frying
    Oil
Directions:

    Add thick Aval to a mixing bowl. Soak the Aval for approximately ten minutes after submerging it in the necessary amount of water.

    After ten minutes, carefully strain the Aval to make sure it is completely dry.

    To the soaked aval, add finely chopped Onions, generous amount of finely chopped Coriander leaves, Rice flour and Curry leaves.

    Followed by Curry Leaves, add Red Chili Flakes, Fennel seeds, Crushed Garlic and Salt.

    Instructed amount of Curd is added to the mixture and is mixed thoroughly. Pinch a small amount of prepared aval mixture and roll it into balls.

    Lay the squeezed ball on your palm and press it flat with your fingertips. Using your finger, create a hole in the center.

    Drop the prepared Vadai one at a time into the hot oil and fry.

    Now that Aval Vadai is ready to snack on, it tastes fantastic.
