Egg Rice

Make endless impressions on your loved ones with your culinary expertise.  Rice being the staple food in Southern parts of India, is being mandatorily consumed in meal. Just like Rice, Eggs have long been a mainstay in diets. Around the world, practically every household uses eggs. There are an infinite number of dishes that can be made with eggs.

In Chef Deena Kitchen, Egg Rice is prepared which possess delicate and smooth flavours. A gravy is prepared using Onion, Tomato, Ginger Garlic paste and few powdered masalas. To the prepared gravy, beaten eggs are added and mix.   Boiled Rice is added to the mixture and is placed it in Dum. In order to render a delicious twist, little amount of pepper powder is sprinkled and Tbsp of ghee is added to it, mixed and served.

Ingredients:

    Egg
  • 100 grams
    Basmati Rice
  • 1 No
    Onion
  • 2 No's
    Tomato
  • 1 Tsp
    Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 2 No's
    Red Chili
  • A Pinch
    Garam Masala Powder
  • A Pinch
    Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 Tbsp
    Chilli Powder
  • 1/2 Tbsp
    Coriander Powder
  • As Required
    Curry Leaves
  • As Required
    Coriander Leaves
  • 1/4 Tsp
    Mustard Seeds
  • To Taste
    Salt
  • 3 Tbsp
    Oil
  • 1/2 Tsp
    Ghee
  • 3/4 Tsp
    Black pepper powder
Directions:

    Crack open the eggs and beat thoroughly.

    To a clay pan, pour oil and heat. Once the oil is heated, add Mustard seeds, Red chillies, fresh Curry leaves, and Onions to the mixture and saute until they turn golden brown.

    When the onions begin to take on a hint of golden-brown hue, add the freshly ground garlic paste and continue to sauté. Add the chopped tomatoes to the prepared mixture at this point and sauté.

    Now, add Turmeric Powder, Chilli Powder, Coriander Powder, Salt and saute slightly.

    Pour little amount of water and add finely chopped Coriander Leaves to it.

    Pour the beaten eggs into the prepared gravy and cook until the eggs are 80-85% done.

    At this point, add Boiled rice and mix partially.

    Sprinkle little amount of Pepper powder, add chopped Coriander Leaves and ¾ Tbsp of Ghee to the mixture. Cover using a lid and place the set up in Dum for 5 minutes.

    After 5 minutes, open the lid and mix the contents gently. Sprinkle and combine a pinch of garam masala.

    The delectable and piping hot Egg Rice is now ready to serve.
