Chicken Curry

Chef Deena Kitchen serves up real, home-style Chicken Kuzhambu. It is incredibly popular and well-liked all around the country. This one-of-a-kind recipe is made by grinding a specific spice powder, a fine paste made of coconut, spices, and many veggies.

Ingredients:
  • 750 Grams
    Chicken

    Drumstick
  • 6 to 8 No's
    Broad Beans
  • 3 No's
    Onion
  • 3 No's
    Tomato
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 13 to 18 No's
    Red Chili
  • 1 Tsp
    Chilli Powder
  • 1 1/2 Tsp
    Coriander Powder
  • A Pinch
    Turmeric powder
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    Fennel Seeds
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    Coriander Seeds
  • A Handful
    Curry Leaves
  • As Required
    Coriander Leaves
  • As Required
    Whole Garam Masala
  • 6 to 7 Tbsp
    Oil
  • 1/2 Tbsp
    Coconut Oil
  • To Taste
    Salt
  • 3 Slices
    Coconut
  • 10 to 15 No's
    Cashewnut
  • 2 to 3 No's
    Green Chilli
Directions:

    The procedure involves preparing masala by roasting Fennel seeds, Coriander seeds, Curry leaves, and 10-12 Red chillies in a pan.

    Transfer the mixture to a plate, let it cool at room temperature, and grind it into a coarse powder.

    Coconut, Fennel seeds, Green chillies, and Cashew nuts are ground together to make a fine textured paste.

    In a clay pot, heat the oil, then add the Fennel seeds, Whole Garam masalas, Red chili, and Curry leaves, and allow them to splutter.

    Add finely chopped Onions and sauté until golden brown. Include Ginger Garlic paste and sauté again.

    Sauté the drumsticks, then season with salt and combine. Add tomatoes to the mixture and mix. Followed by tomatoes, add Turmeric Powder and sauté well until the raw smell of the vegetables leave.

    Chilli Powder and Coriander Powder are added to the mixture, which is then cooked until mushy.

    Pour a small amount of water to cook the vegetables.

    When the drumsticks have reached 50% doneness, add the Broad Beans and sauté.

    Add the chicken to the mixture and cook it.

    Now add the prepared coconut paste and allow it to cook.

    If necessary, water can be added at this point; nevertheless, the chicken releases its water content as it cooks. Add chopped coriander leaves, cover the gravy with a lid, and cook for a few minutes.

    Finally, add the prepared masala as needed and combine.

    Pour in a small amount of coconut oil, mix well, and serve.
